Dyslexia support

Dyslexia is a specific learning difference that affects reading and spelling, but it does not reflect a child's intelligence. With the right support, dyslexic learners can thrive academically and develop unique strengths in problem-solving and creativity.

Early identification is crucial

Signs of dyslexia may appear before formal reading instruction: difficulty learning nursery rhymes, trouble recognizing letters, or a family history. At Elevated Minds, we use informal observations and formal screening to identify children who may benefit from a multi-sensory approach.

Multi-sensory teaching techniques

Engaging multiple senses—visual, auditory, kinesthetic—helps cement learning. For example, children might trace letters in sand while saying the sound. Our remedial sessions incorporate movement, color-coding, and music to reinforce phonics and decoding.

We also work closely with parents to provide simple strategies for home, such as using audiobooks to build comprehension while reducing decoding fatigue.
